Eleanor Gilpatrick - Eleanor Gilpatrick is a second-career, romantic realist, working primarily with landscapes and the figure. During her her stint as professor at Hunter College, CUNY, she authored four books, directed a masters program in health services administration, and pioneered courses in critical thinking and writing.
Gilpatrick returned to her first love, painting, in 1998 and has been growing rapidly as an artist. She studied at Hunter College with Gabriele Evertz, Valerie Jaudon, Juan Sanchez, Susan Crile, and Bob Swain.

Gilpatrick paints strong, romantic landscapes set in New York and Europe. Her most recent landscapes are filled with sky in all its dramatic lights. The work with the figure looks at people in motion at a moment in time, absorbed in the activity of their lives.

Gilpatrick's first solo show was at The Jadite Galleries in May, 2003; she has shown in juried shows including the Galleria D'Arte Mentana in Florence, Italy, the Marymount Manhattan College Gallery, the Cork Gallery in Lincoln Center, the first annual nonmember show at the Pen and Brush Gallery in New York, the Stage Gallery in Merrick, New York, and, in July, 26, 2003, at the First Hudson River Art Show at Rhinebeck.

A profile of Gilpatrick's figural work and the development of her palette
appeared in "American Artist" Magazine in November 2002.
