I live in the neighborhood and this was my first visit to your gallery for the Florin Scarlat Art Show. I was drawn into the show by the colorful art work displayed in the window. That evening there were two other artists whose work was also being shown. I was more enthralled by Florin Scarlat's work. The colors and use of light were magnificant. I wish that I could afford one of Mr. Scarlat's paintings. The have touched me in a way that I shall never be the same ever again and I shall never look at art the same way ever again. --Marc A. Thomas, June 28, 2005 Florin Scarlat at the Jadite Gallery I saw the Florin Scarlat exhibit at the Jadite Gallery a few weeks ago, and I must admit it was quite a treat for the eyes. A former Ballet Master, he uses color boldly to convey the spirit of the dance with ethereal images that somehow manage to be grounded solidly in reality. His work echoes of the dance – a little bit of a dream in a moment in time that tells a story of the choreographer’s choosing. The Ballet Master’s paintings manage to capture that quality- they’re a little bit of a dream, a little bit o’ magic on canvas, taking us away to wonderful places in the time we take to see them. It’s a splendid blending of two enduring art forms by one who dares to dabble in them both.
